Dominomancy

Divining the future by observing the disposition of dominoes is called dominomancy.

It is believed that this art was born in China between 1200 and 1100 B.C. and was often practiced in France during the middle ages.

It is perhaps an evolution of divination through the use of dice. Both the dice and domino pieces are thought to be endowed with power that brings benefit to the person querying, whether the omens are positive or not.

The most used methodology within dominomancy is to
turn the 28 pieces – face down – round and round with the
left hand.

The query is made, and three pieces are separated from the lot. They are then placed in a horizontal formation, from left to right, and are turned to be observed.

The selected pieces will render the answer, as each one has a specific meaning.

The 28 Domino Pieces and Their Meaning

Double six: Success, health, happiness, victory.

Six / five: Lack of perseverance in facing responsibility.

Six / four: Sign of fighting and not easily solved problems.

Six / three: Trips that won’t be immediate and improvements at home.

Six / two: Tough and difficult present, but improvement in the short term.

Six / one: Difficulty and effort, but solved problems.

Six / blank: Strength and perseverance to surmount possible obstacles with invincibility.

Double five: Business, ideas that bring money to it, movement and displacement.

Five / four: Safe monetary investments, progress relating to money.

Five / three: Good times, in spite of coming criticism.
Five / two: Loyal friends, a close birth.

Five / one: Signals a romantic relationship that will not end well.

Five / blank: Shared happiness with a loved one; need of a friend’s shoulder.
 
Double four: A very pleasant period of rest, party and happiness.
Four / three: Tough times coming, but solutions coming in the mid-term.
Four / two: Signals one must prepare for possible change.

Four / one: Caution with monetary expenses. More control of them should be exerted.
