bullet I-Ching

reading tarotI-Ching, also known as Yi Jing or Zhouyi, is the Chinese oracle book which is believed to date from 2,400 B.C. and is also known as the Book of Change.

It’s believed that the book shows the present condition of the person inquiring and tells a future that will become reality if the person follows the right path to achieve it. It’s at one time a divination book and a book of morals

I-Ching is formed by 64 chapters of binary, arithmetical and geometrical numbering systems.

Odd numbers are represented by a continuous line, while even numbers are represented by a broken line. These patterns are called hexagrams and are each made up by two trigrams. They are to be read from bottom to top – in the opposite direction of Chinese writing. They represent wise phrases and advice that apply to any culture and moral system.

There are four accepted sources for the book: the Fu-Hi text, written by king Wen and his son the duke of Chou; and the texts written by Confucius and his disciples. It is precisely the comments attributed to Confucius’ school that interpret the 64 signs of I-Ching that appeared in definite form in the 8th century B.C. due to The Changes of Chou or Chou I. When The Changes authored by Chou were put together with the 10 wings of Confucius The Book of Changes was born as it is known today.

A universe in motivated by the relationship and dialogue between opposite beings and in constant motion and change is the view and message of I-Ching. According to I-Ching changes occur in cycles. There is no set future in I-Ching, but an absence of determination. The future is made up of casualty. The book establishes that every moment in time is the basis for the next instant.

These are the basic eight hexagrams:

The eight basic trigrams form the 64 hexagrams:

This system is based on the establishment of relationships from analogies. Pairs are formed and the position each pattern occupies in the hexagram is studied. Different objects are used as consulting tools, such as milfoil or yarrow stems, coins and other objects. A trigram is made up of three lines that are drawn on a piece of paper to which many meanings are associated. Some of them follow:
