Margaritomancy

Divination involving the use of pearls; these were placed on a cast iron surface which was on the fire and then was covered with a glass. The names of those suspected of stealing something were then pronounced one by one. The name of the guilty one would be the one pronounced at the same moment the pearl had jumped and broken the bottom of the glass.
