bulletNear-Death Experiences

Near-death experiences, or NDE, have become one of the most fascinating mysteries related to what happens after death, because despite many advances and research techniques in the field of sleep study, it is still unfathomable ground in many respects.

Despite the mystery surrounding NDE,  there are three theories that seem to carry more weight and credibility when it comes to explaining these experiences.

On the one hand, some researchers argue that NDE are caused by the psychological stress caused by illness nearing the death, in other words, the person knows he or she is about to die, and this generates the logical stress.

On the other hand, other scientists and neurologists suggest that NDE are produced by an important chemical disorder in the brain, above all due to a lack of oxygen in this part of the body seconds before dying, or, for example, due to convulsions in the brain, something unusual in this part of the body.

There are those who believe they are real experiences lived by the patient, which contain spiritual and not only physical elements.

Researchers and doctors have been collecting for years the testimonies of these people with no brain activity, finding many similarities between what they say, see, feel, and experience.

Most report, for example, that they see themselves above the operating table or stretcher, as if floating above the body from the ceiling of the room, or report seeing a strong white light at the end of a tunnel where they relive the most important moments of their lives.

Whatever may be the correct theory, what is certain is that people around the world, of all ages and races have reported such experiences; the NDE do not distinguish between human beings.
