Numerology – The Meanings of Numbers

Numerology is the discipline that shows us how to use numbers in our best interest and investigates the numerical code signals, establishing, thus, a relationship between living beings and the numbers, together with different physical forces.

Its numerical system is the decimal, except in Chaldea Numerology, in which they use the octal system.

Although in antiquity, it was quite popular among mathematicians, it is not currently considered a mathematical discipline, although it is very much appreciated by those who practice it and follow it, as it encourages knowledge of its heart.

It is also a science that civilizations have cultivated since ancient times, because they believed that the numbers were good for men, as they were in themselves an active principle.

Numerology is based on a mesh of many elements and issues that are a part of our lives, as each number hides a meaning which can be perfectly applied to man, showing us signs of our character, life circumstances, and so on.

Hence, the influence of the numbers on us all and what happens to us is unquestionable.

A person’s Personal Number, also called Destiny Number, in numerology is usually known as the Life Path Number. It's easy to find out; you just have to add the digits of your date of birth, keep adding until you reach a single digit between 1 and 9.

For example: if a person was born on December 21st, 1980, just add all of the digits of their date of birth (21/12/1980): 2 +1 +1 +2 +1 +9 +8 + 0 = 24 = 2 +4 = 6. Six is therefore his or her Life Path Number.

This person’s Destiny Number, or Life Path Number is, therefore, six, and it is a number that never changes and will accompany this person throughout life.

What each number represents in numerology:

One: It represents the universe. They are people who want to impose their style; they are dominant, powerful, somewhat selfish but respectful to others, with an overwhelming creative force. They are very tenacious and very realistic. They can adapt to anything, and they love money and power to attain social reputation. They like gatherings with family and friends because they love to feel their family’s warmth, and continually miss the past. It is difficult for them to let their feelings show.

Two: It represents the couple, family, society. They are very hospitable people, and they love to enjoy life at home, as well as family celebrations. They are generous, can’t stand silence, and are quite timid. They love sports and excel at team sports. They are also very fond of the mountains and growing plants. On one hand, they are calm, warm, and romantic, on the other hand,  some may present some envy, a weak personality, or conformism.

Three: It is a symbol of expansion. This digit in numerology relates to analytical personalities, who love to be tenacious until they achieve their goals altogether, but their inconsistency sometimes plays tricks on them. They are fickle in their feelings, and they love new things. As this is also applicable to their love life, they tend to be unfaithful. They love to take care of their looks, and are very charming and likeable. They have a great desire for advancement, good taste, and a great sense of humor.

Four: It represents will. Therefore, people born under this number are very stubborn and tenacious, and it is hard for them to recognize their mistakes even after they have realized they have done something wrong. If they unleash their fury, it will soon pass; it is because they give too much importance to trivial matters. They are very responsible, very optimistic, and mentally agile. They are very ironic, but often regret what they say because they are morally very honest. They are honest, proud, sincere, intelligent, and brave.

Five: It represents restlessness and curiosity. They love life, because they learn lessons from everything. Nine: In numerology, nine is the symbol of an independent criterion. They do not like to depend on anyone or anything. They are either great pessimists or highly optimistic. They usually tell the truth, and they hate to be lied to. They are very honest people and are never treasonous. They are passionate, arrogant, impulsive, and extravagant. They are somewhat cowardly, arrogant, and irascible.
