The Lovers:

It is a card that, logically, represents love, sex, and sensuality. An angel blesses the union between two people in this card, and this indicates that we want a strong and lasting union.

It speaks of a relationship that is based strongly in love, but it can be without sex.
 
It could mean the choice between two loves, a breakup, or a union.

I could also refer to a strong relationship between a group or society and therefore is not a romantic relationship.

It may also represent the internal conflicts a person has when having to decide between right and wrong.

In matters of the heart, it symbolizes the need to choose between two people, or that the partner has to choose between the querent and another person. It represents what should be done and what one wishes to do.


If this card appears right-side-up, it means love, physical attraction, sensitivity with respect to art, union within a couple, temptations, and complications of a sentimental type.

If the card appears reversed, it may indicate a broken marriage, divorce, separation, failure, a dangerous temptation.

The words that define this card are: couple, test, choice, free will.

If it turns up with The Hermit, it means a betrayal in love.

If it turns up with The World, it means a relationship will be made public. If it is with The Sun card, it indicates marriage.

The Lovers card is associated with Taurus.

Its interpretation depends greatly on the cards that turn up with it and the query, as it may mean anything from a love that approaches to a separation at the hands of a third party.
