Theomancy

The Jewish Cabal studies religious texts. Its origins can be found in the Book of Creation or Sefer Yetzirah, although its main book is the Zohar, which is the mystical interpretation of the Torah – the five first books of the Old Testament. In Sefer Yetzirah the creation of the world by God through ten divine enumerations or sephirot is narrated, as well as the creation of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
 
This is why it is maintained that the world and its circumstances can be understood through letters, as they contain symbols and energies that flow from them. Interpreting all this iconographically and numerically a universal understanding can be reached.
Theomancy comes from theo – god and manteia – divination; and it’s that part of the Jewish Cabal that studies and interprets the mysteries of the Divine Majesty – seeking and studying as well the sacred names.

This mancy belongs to the science of anticipation; in other words the ability to see what will happen in the future – taking them always as an orienting reference and never as a 100% exact formula.
Ancient civilizations related these sciences to determined planets, generally linking theomancy to Mercury.

Theomancy has absolute power over angels and demons – and can even work miracles.
In any case, there are experts who sustain that the Cabal, in spite of its prophetic connotation, has a lot more to do with wisdom than with prediction of the future, and they state that even though the Cabal is a tool of knowledge, the only one with power to control the future is God.
 
This is why many Cabal followers refuse to make predictions, as they have the Jewish belief that words have enormous force, to the point of generating negative energies that might be harmful.
 
And so it is derived that Man is responsible of the ills that affect the world, since his actions have influence on such spiritual energies.
